Nothing prepares you for your baby to graduate elementary school, and then also give the speech at the graduation ceremony.

A full being made up of the best parts of my heart stood on stage, two hands gripping the microphone (from nerves, she told me later), speaking to her entire class and all their parents. Her voice carried bravery and kindness. Her eyes held light and fire. Her words were full of truth and respect. I was abuzz with emotion.

Thank God for children. They are walking, talking hope for the future.

Happy graduation season to all of our growing kids who will change the world for the better, but will forever be our babies.
