My favorite metric ever is now on LinkedIn!

3–4 minutes

I hope you’re taking care of yourself. Getting enough sleep, drinking water, letting the sun shine on you, hugging your people. That’s what I’ve been focusing on lately.

My daughter’s good friend lost her mom last week. She was the nicest, fun, chill, loving mom friend. I’m heartbroken for her husband and two daughters. Our girls have been best friends for years and are graduating from 5th grade together next week. She was one of those people who I immediately felt comfortable around. You know that feeling? There’s just an ease there, an immediate bond. This news has rocked me, thinking about two young girls not having their mom anymore, and a mom not being able to be here to watch her girls grow and thrive and live beautiful lives.

This life is truly a gift. My hands are open to receive it. I hope yours are too.

BLUESKY: The original purpose of the blue check is back.

INSTAGRAM: Posting graphics and stills has been a bit of a trial-and-error process for many of us since Instagram switched to the portrait grid layout in January. I’m glad they made this recent update.

INSTAGRAM: Glad they’re extending the max length of audio clips from 1 minute to 5 minutes because 1 minute has never been enough for me. #longwinded

LINKEDIN: Video is so powerful. CEOs can be “creators” too, ya know.

LINKEDIN: Two examples included.

LINKEDIN: “When employees are genuinely enthusiastic about their workplace and its offerings, they become natural advocates who offer free, organic product and service endorsements.” I can’t emphasize employee advocacy enough. When a brand and its employees are working together on social media, it’s a beautifully powerful thing.

LINKEDIN: “Nearly 3 out of 4 decision-makers (73%) say thought leadership content is a more trustworthy basis for assessing an organization’s capabilities than marketing materials and product sheets.”

LINKEDIN: “Followers gained”!!! This is my favorite metric ever. Instagram has it and it’s the key to unlocking how to keep growing your account and now LinkedIn has it. This means that you can now look at the analytics of your individual posts, see which ones gained you the most followers, and do more posts like that. It’s how to build a successful channel content strategy.

LINKEDIN: Bye bye button. If you already have one, it will remain, but you can’t change it. Essentially, you’re stuck with the button you have now.

LINKEDIN: HR teams could learn from what other companies have done when boosting job openings.

META: The Ad Library is one of my favorite things about Meta as a whole ever.

SOCIAL MEDIA: “73% of consumers expect brands to respond to them on social media”

THREADS: It still surprises me how hard it is to use emojis on some platforms. That feels like a basic feature that should just work everywhere.

TIKTOK: I think people forget how integral music is to TikTok. It’s the only platform where music drives so much of the experience.

YOUTUBE: The quiz sticker looks very similar to Instagram’s “Poll” sticker in Stories.
